R&D engineer thin film devices (consultant)
Our client's Exploratory Lab department is seeking an R&D Engineer to support thin film device developments, offering an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a team-oriented environment
The assignment:
Follow-up of process runs under the supervision of the responsible project leader or scientist
Suggest and deliver improvements to the process
Deposition of thin films from solution and vacuum, using in particular tools like spin-coating, physical or chemical vapor deposition and atomic-layer deposition.
Physical and optical characterization of the deposited layers and realized devices
Regular reporting in a consistent and rigorous way.
Profile / Requirements :
Required knowledge and skills
You have a Master's degree or higher in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, material engineering or equivalent.
Experience with processing of thin film layers and their analysis – optical, microscopical and morphological.
You like working within a team and can schedule your work according to deadlines and deliverables.
You can work in a lab environment following strict safety and housekeeping rules.
Given the international character of imec, a good knowledge of English is mandatory.
