We are looking for a passionate and commercially driven Category Manager – Dairy to join a leading retail organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the category strategy, managing the full marketing mix (Product, Price, Placement, and Promotion), and optimizing the product assortment within the Dairy category. Your work will directly impact sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Define the vision and strategic direction for the Dairy category in line with the company's overall commercial objectives and translate this into an actionable annual category plan.
* Identify, select, and manage strategic suppliers, monitor their performance, and ensure compliance with agreed standards and objectives.
* Develop and optimize the Dairy product assortment by introducing innovative products and market-leading solutions that meet evolving consumer needs.
* Design and implement promotional plans to drive category growth, increase sales, and improve profitability.
* Work closely with Marketing, Promotions, Quality, Logistics, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of category initiatives.
* Monitor market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive advantage.
* Analyze category performance data, generate actionable insights, and prepare management reports to support informed decision-making.
Profile
* Master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
* Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in FMCG, retail, category management, buying, or a similar commercial role.
* Strong interest in the Dairy category and a genuine commercial mindset.
* Excellent analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
* Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
* Excellent negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
* Results-oriented, well-organized, proactive, and solution-driven.
* Fluent in either Dutch or French, with a strong command of the other language. Good English communication skills are considered a strong asset.
