Our client in Brussels is looking for an Expert Secondary Expert. The Engineering Expertise Secondary Systems department defines the standards applied in infrastructure projects. These cover electrical equipment for protection systems, control systems, automation, and measurements of high-voltage installations.
Mission
As a Protection Expert in Expertise Secondary Systems, you will:
* Define the technical requirements of the secondary systems (protections, automation, and control) of a high-voltage substation based on concept notes.
* Participate in multidisciplinary teams for bid analysis and contract awarding.
* Manage framework agreements, including processes between Elia and suppliers for equipment construction and acceptance testing.
* Draft technical standards and solutions based on concept notes and guidelines for Elia investment projects.
* Support and advise project teams.
* Develop and deliver technical training to operational entities.
Your focus will mainly be on protections, automation, and control, as well as tertiary systems. Acquiring the necessary technical expertise in these domains is a prerequisite for success in this role.
Profile
* Civil or industrial engineer in electrical engineering or electromechanics.
* Strong affinity with electrical engineering and motivated to further develop and share technical expertise.
* Pragmatic problem-solver with a client- and results-oriented approach.
* Hands-on mindset, willing to work on-site with operational entities.
* Team player with strong communication and persuasion skills.
* Excellent analytical and synthesis abilities, able to clearly convey complex matters (both verbally and in writing).
* Independent and proactive in managing assigned tasks.
* Capable of reporting results clearly and in a structured manner, in written form or presentations.
* Solid knowledge of MS Office is a plus.
* Several years of experience is an advantage.
* Knowledge of low-voltage protections and IEC61850 is an asset.
