Your day to day

People

* Lead and develop your team: Manage daily sales activities, ensure proper staffing, and provide coaching, feedback, and training to help colleagues meet and exceed revenue goals. Address HR-related actions as needed.
* Foster a positive environment: Drive teamwork and connect departments.
* Build relationships: Interact with guests, vendors, and key clients to enhance revenue.
* Achieve sales targets: Meet personal and team sales goals, maximize profitability, and contribute to departmental budgets and financial plans.
* Drive revenue growth: Create and implement sales plans to boost occupancy, average rates, and food and beverage sales.
* Analyze and adapt: Produce monthly reports and forecasts to monitor performance, identify trends, and coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share.
* Promote the hotel: Develop special events and attend trade shows to attract new business and increase sales and marketing opportunities.

Guest Experience

* Enhance guest satisfaction: Provide information on loyalty programs, local attractions, and hotel facilities.
* Coordinate events: Schedule conventions and group activities, ensuring seamless service delivery with other departments.
* Communicate special needs: Inform relevant departments about VIPs, large groups, and key guests.
* Upsell services: Lead marketing efforts to promote hotel amenities and offerings.

Responsible Business

* Increase hotel visibility: Work with community groups, advertising agencies, and media to raise the hotel's profile and brand reputation.
* Promote sustainability: Highlight the hotel's "green" aspects to gain new business.
* Continuous improvement: Identify and implement improvements in marketing activities and overall sales performance.
* Team support: Assist with ad-hoc duties as needed.

Accountability

This is the top sales and marketing job in a large, luxury, resort, or major flagship hotel. Hotel may have multiple sites and facilities, high-volume catering and/or convention facilities, and a large number of VIP and special service guests. May manage a large number of professional level and administrative sales, catering, and/or convention employee.


Profiel

* Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in marketing or related field
* Four or more years of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales team
* Strong knowledge of local businesses and business trends required
* Must speak local language(s)
* No 9-5 mentality – be available in the evening and occasionally as well during weekends
* Willing to travel abroad (to promote IHG)
