Database Architect position, based in Belgium, with work conducted at the company premises or on-site at a client site. The successful candidate will be integrated with the Development team and closely cooperate with a major client\'s IT team on site.
Overview
We currently have a vacancy for a Database Architect fluent in English. This role offers the opportunity to contribute as an expert in ICT infrastructure technology, including Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, and to work within cross-functional project teams.
Responsibilities
Assist during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting
Assist in enforcing project deadlines, schedules, and methodologies
Assist with deployment and configuration of the system
Contribute to and review the creation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses and complex Business Intelligence Solutions (Data Lakes/Data Warehouses)
Contribute to and review best practices for naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models and databases
Contribute to and review data, security, testing and technical artefacts
Contribute to and review project deliverables (project progress reports and project management plans, test plans, quality)
Contribute to and review risk management activities and deliverables
Database design, implementation and integration with other databases
Participate in review, progress, coordination, management and technical meetings with other project teams\' members
Provide expert advice and assistance, technology watch, evaluation studies, architectural considerations, applicable standards, solution patterns and best practices in ICT infrastructure (e.g., Big Data, Artificial Intelligence)
Provide technical evaluations and audit reports of databases
Requirements
University degree in IT or relevant discipline, with minimum 13 years of relevant IT experience
Experience of data modelling and database design techniques and tools
Experience with NoSQL database management systems (e.g., Dynamo DB, MongoDB, Cassandra)
Experience with relational database management systems (e.g., Oracle) and SQL
Experience in database troubleshooting and debugging
Experience with Agile methodologies
Excellent knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools
Excellent knowledge of data warehouse design & architecture
Excellent knowledge of ETL tools, SQL and data modelling tools
Excellent knowledge of OLAP and data mining tools
Good knowledge of cloud-based BI design and data lake/data warehouse design
Knowledge of near real-time data warehousing and/or change data capture technologies
Knowledge of non-relational database technologies and semantic interoperability
Excellent command of the English language
