Interim Head of Treasury
The Interim Head of Treasury will oversee the treasury function of a leading international group, ensuring effective liquidity management, funding execution, treasury risk management, and governance. Reporting to the
CFO, the role involves leading a small team, managing banking relationships, optimizing cash flow and funding structures, driving treasury projects, ensuring compliance and controls, and acting as a key business partner to finance and operational stakeholders across the organization.
This interim assignment is expected to run for approximately
12 months
and will play a key role in supporting a smooth transition towards a permanent successor. The position reports directly to the
CFO
and works closely with finance leadership across the different business units.
Key Responsibilities
Liquidity & Cash Management
Manage daily cash positioning and liquidity planning across the group and its subsidiaries.
Ensure sufficient liquidity through cash pooling, bank transfers and intercompany funding.
Drive short- and medium-term cash flow forecasting in collaboration with controlling and business units.
Analyse variances, challenge assumptions and provide clear cash insights.
Support working capital initiatives by offering recommendations on cash collection, payments and forecasting.
Manage cash surplus investments within approved risk parameters and monitor counterparties.
Treasury Risk Management
Monitor interest rate and counterparty risks in line with group policies.
Recommend hedging actions where appropriate.
Ensure correct documentation, approvals and follow-up of treasury transactions.
Maintain strong segregation of duties and proper deal capture processes.
Funding & Banking Relationships
Manage funding operations, including drawdowns, repayments, credit facilities and intercompany loans.
Maintain sufficient funding headroom and monitor financial covenants.
Coordinate timely reporting towards lenders and internal stakeholders.
Build and maintain relationships with banks and financial partners.
Support bank rationalization, fee negotiations and service-level improvements.
Systems, Reporting & Improvement
Own treasury reporting on liquidity, net debt, exposures, investments, cash flow and facilities.
Ensure effective use of treasury systems, including Kyriba, Isabel and related workflows.
Lead or support treasury improvement projects such as cash pooling optimization, bank connectivity, automation and policy updates.
Document processes and support knowledge transfer for the future permanent Head of Treasury.
People Management & Stakeholder Coordination
Lead, coach and prioritize the work of the treasury team.
Ensure clear responsibilities, back‑up structures and development plans.
Act as the key treasury contact for finance, controlling, accounting, tax, legal and business unit management.
Coordinate with external stakeholders such as banks, investment funds and auditors.
Treasury Governance & Controls
Safeguard reliable treasury operations, reporting and controls across the organization.
Review and maintain treasury policies and procedures.
Monitor key treasury KPIs, including liquidity, net debt, funding headroom, working capital and covenant metrics.
Lead treasury‑related audits, internal control reviews and compliance activities.
Ensure strong controls around KYC, signatory management, payment security and segregation of duties.
Profiel kandidaat
Minimum 10 years of relevant treasury experience, preferably in a group or multi‑entity environment.
Strong background in cash management, funding, bank relationships and treasury governance.
Previous experience leading a treasury function and managing a small team.
Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Engineering or a related field.
Treasury certification is considered an asset.
Solid knowledge of liquidity management, cash pooling, debt instruments, credit facilities and treasury risk management.
Hands‑on, pragmatic and able to combine strategic oversight with operational execution.
Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to translate complex matters into clear recommendations.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with treasury management systems.
Experience with Kyriba is required.
Knowledge of payment tools such as Isabel is a plus.
