A global life sciences business is seeking a Temporary Customs & Trade Regulations Expert to provide specialist support across UK and Irish import/export operations. Your role as Temporary Customs & Trade Regulations Expert
* Act as the lead point of contact for UK and Irish trade compliance, supporting cross-functional teams and external customs brokers.
* Standardise and document post-Brexit customs processes and internal control procedures.
* Support the ongoing implementation of a global trade compliance programme, liaising with international colleagues.
* Identify and mitigate customs duty exposure and ensure proactive compliance with new and emerging obligations.
* Respond to audits and government queries, coordinating locally as needed.
* Sustain the company's Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certification and manage local clearance issues.
Experience and qualifications for the Temporary Customs & Trade Regulations Expert role
* Strong knowledge of international trade, UK/EU customs regulations, and compliance procedures including tariff classification, valuation, and origin.
* Previous experience working with customs platforms and authorisations (e.g. CHIEF, TSS, ROS, EIDR, SDP) is preferred.
* Comfortable managing customs brokers and control towers within a complex supply chain.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with ERP systems (ideally JD Edwards).
* Highly organised, able to prioritise and independently manage workload in a global matrix environment.
* Fluent in professional English; additional languages are an advantage.
