SENIOR ELECTRONIC DESIGN ENGINEER - KORTRIJK (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION
Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Electronics Design Engineer with deep expertise in PCB design to lead the development of complex electronic hardware.
In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of PCB design, from concept and schematic capture through layout, prototyping, testing, and production, ensuring high-performance, reliable, and manufacturable designs.
You will take a leadership role in designing multi-layer PCBs for advanced analog, digital, and mixed-signal systems, applying best practices in signal integrity, power distribution, EMI/EMC compliance, and thermal management. The role requires mentoring junior engineers, providing design reviews, and driving design decisions that align with product requirements and business goals.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers—and work with external vendors to optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), troubleshoot production issues, and guide prototypes to full-scale production.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and development of complex electronic circuits and PCB layouts.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
* Perform multi-layer PCB layout using industry-standard CAD tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, OrCAD) for high-speed and mixed-signal designs.
* Ensure designs meet signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, and EMI/EMC requirements.
* Review schematics and PCB layouts to maintain quality, compliance, and best practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware into overall product systems.
* Oversee prototype assembly, testing, debugging, and validation processes.
* Work with PCB manufacturers and assembly vendors to resolve complex design and production challenges.
* Implement and enforce DFM/DFA principles and industry standards throughout the design process.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
* 7+ years of hands-on experience in PCB design and electronic circuit development.
* Expert-level proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or OrCAD.
* Strong knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
* Proven experience in high-speed, multi-layer PCB layout, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance.
* Track record of leading complex design projects from concept to production.
