About the Role
The European Commission Legal Service is seeking a skilled PHP/Symfony Developer to support its mission of delivering efficient and secure IT systems in the legal domain. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing, maintaining, and evolving web applications and reusable components that are critical to the Commission’s legal operations.
Given the sensitivity of the IT environment, candidates must be EU nationals.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform technical analysis, design, testing, documentation, and development of back-end services and web applications.
* Build and maintain reusable web components in compliance with W3C standards.
* Collaborate closely with the in-house IT team to ensure seamless system evolution and integration.
* Contribute to the technical architecture roadmap, leveraging current technologies and best practices.
* Ensure high standards of development quality through structured coding and testing methods.
Requirements
🎓 Education
* Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of higher education in IT or a related field.

💻 Technical Skills
* Proven experience in web application development using PHP with Symfony framework (mandatory).
* Strong knowledge of web technologies for data and middleware layers.
* Experience with AngularJS is a strong asset.
* Familiarity with HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, and modern web design practices.
* Experience in handling XML/JSON/REST data flows.
* Comfortable working with Oracle RDBMS for data persistence.
* Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jira, Git, Bamboo) is an advantage.
