About
Companion.energy Companion.energy connects the financial side of energy management (contracts, markets, risk) with the operational side (assets, processes, sites). We model complex energy contracts and flexible assets, forecast demand and production, and translate predictions into automated, second-by-second decisions that move megawatts and money. Our software is used by large B2B enterprises and energy players to lower OPEX, maximize revenue, increase renewable usage, and manage risk.
Why Companion.energy? Solve real problems: Our customers rely on us to connect, control, and optimise their energy systems. You will work at the intersection of markets and megawatts, making decisions that drive real financial outcomes. Shape a category: Companion sits at a genuinely new intersection of energy operations and finance. You will help define how this market develops and who wins in it. Join early, help shape the future: Small team, big impact. You will influence commercial strategy, market positioning, and how we scale across Europe. A mission that matters: Helping companies adapt to a volatile energy landscape isn't just smart business. It accelerates the energy transition.
What we are looking for Background in strategy consulting, energy advisory, or energy market strategy: you are used to structuring complex problems, building business cases, and influencing senior stakeholders. Deep knowledge of European energy markets: flexibility mechanisms, balancing markets, PPAs, demand response, or broader energy transition dynamics. Track record of driving commercial outcomes in long-cycle, multi-stakeholder enterprise environments: you understand how large organisations make decisions and how to move them forward. Strong analytical and communication skills: you can translate market complexity into a crisp narrative for a CFO, an energy director, or a board. Comfortable operating with autonomy: you define your own approach, manage your pipeline, and take ownership of outcomes. Fluent in English. Additional European languages are a strong plus. Entrepreneurial mindset: you thrive in environments where the playbook is still being written.
Bonus points Experience at a strategy consultancy with an energy or utilities focus. Background in energy trading, portfolio management, or flexibility aggregation. Existing network among large C&I energy buyers, utilities, or grid operators in Europe.
