Description
We currently have a vacancy for a Data Scientist fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert will be based in Brussels, Belgium. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.
Your Tasks:
1. Collect business requirement and develop advanced data mining solutions or identify, assess and deploy relevant existing data mining, machine learning and business intelligence solution;
2. Specification and design of presentation interfaces with optimal usability/user experience;
3. Development and maintenance of software applications in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML) and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI);
4. Identify, collect, convert and update different data types/sets in several locations (e.g. ETL);
5. Produces data models according to specific problems statements;
6. Scripting and programming;
7. Contribute to the design and implementation of the analytics architecture and its solution stack (including performance aspects, physical design, capacity dimensions);
8. Write the different documentation associated with the tasks and liaise with other project teams as necessary to address cross-project interdependencies.
Requirements
9. University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 17 years of relevant working experience in IT;
10. Minimum 5 years of experience in Python, NLP, Machine Learning;
11. Expertise in the ETL processes and tools (i.e. Talend Open Studio);
12. Excellent knowledge of Perl, Matlab, R and its NLP/ML libraries (SpaCy, NLTK, scikit-learn, pandas);
13. Excellent knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, Neural Network, and/or artificial intelligence frameworks;
14. Excellent knowledge of Data Management;
15. Proficient in continuous code delivery and unit testing;
16. Good knowledge of AWS and/or Azure;
17. Good knowledge of Linux, Unix and Bash;
18. Good knowledge of natural language processing systems lifecycle and agile software development methodologies;
19. Good knowledge of quality assurance and quality control for machine translation (MT) and experience with MT quality procedures, testing methodologies and tools, such as automatic quality metrics (BLEU scores and similar) and human evaluation of MT quality;
20. Good knowledge of business intelligence tools (Tableau, SAS, SAP, GoodData);
21. Good knowledge of SQL tooling (NoSQL DB, MongoDB, Hadoop, SQL);
22. Knowledge of NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase;
23. Knowledge of data visualisation tools, such as D3.js, GGplot;
24. Knowledge in Database Mining systems and in Big Data technologies;
25. Knowledge in one of the following areas: predictive (forecasting, recommendation), prescriptive (simulation), sentiment analysis, topic detection, social media crawling and processing, plagiarism detection, trends/anomalies detection in datasets, recommendation systems;
26. Excellent command of the English language and a good understanding of French.
