Senior Business Analyst – KYC Automation (Life Insurance)

I am currently looking for a Senior Business Analyst with strong KYC / AML expertise to support KYC automation initiatives within a life insurance environment. This role sits within a Business Change & Monitoring team made up of Business Analysts, Actuaries, and Testers, working on portfolio migration and commercial development projects. This is strictly a Business Analyst role. It is not a Functional Analyst position and does not involve writing technical specifications or designing system‐level solutions. The focus is on business process analysis, regulatory interpretation, KYC optimisation, and acting as a bridge between business and IT. What you'll be doing Business Analysis (core focus) Analyse, challenge, and improve existing KYC processes and data management practices. Define and formalise business requirements in line with internal quality standards. Identify process, data, and operational impacts linked to KYC/AML regulatory obligations. Ensure shared understanding across Business, Compliance, Operations, and IT. Translate business needs into conceptual, high‐level requirements (not technical or functional specifications). Apply the right level of abstraction depending on the audience and context. Business Acceptance Testing Prepare and execute business process tests and calculation validations. Support User Acceptance Testing to confirm solutions meet business expectations, without performing functional system analysis. Monitoring & Stakeholder Management Act as a business intermediary between business teams and IT delivery teams. Provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and dependencies. Facilitate collaboration with stakeholders across IT, Operations, Business, Distribution, and Compliance. Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. What I'm looking for KYC / AML expertise Strong understanding of KYC/AML regulatory obligations within a life insurance context. Experience with identity verification processes and risk‐based approaches. Ability to identify business triggers for recertification and periodic reviews. Business Analysis skills Proven experience as a Business Analyst in life insurance or banking. Solid command of at least one recognised business/process analysis methodology. Strong knowledge of the life insurance contract lifecycle and value chain. Comfortable mapping, analysing, and optimising KYC processes. Confident challenging business needs and proposing pragmatic, value‐driven solutions. Able to clearly distinguish between business requirements and technical design. IT & Data – from a business perspective Comfortable working with data constraints and data quality considerations. Understanding of service‐oriented architectures (APIs, microservices) in terms of business impact. Familiarity with automation solutions and their applicability to business processes. Acts as a bridge, not a functional or technical designer. Soft skills Clear, structured communicator with Business, IT, and Compliance. Experience facilitating workshops and co‐creation sessions. Strong sense of ownership, quality, and respect for deadlines. Pragmatic, solution‐oriented, client‐focused, and results‐driven. Practical detail University degree in mathematics or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years' experience in life insurance or banking.
