Internship description:

We’re looking for a proactive and ambitious student to join us and gain hands-on experience in one of the most dynamic and exciting industries. This is more than just an internship-it’s a chance to start your career with us. Outstanding interns will be considered for full-time roles post-graduation.

As Promo Manager for the Off-Trade channel in Belgium, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing the effectiveness of our trade investments by developing and executing impactful promotional strategies. Working at the intersection of sales, revenue management, and finance, you will analyze promotional performance, optimize spend, and ensure our activities deliver both volume uplift and margin expansion. Your strategic mindset and data-driven approach will help shape how we win in-store across key Off-Trade customers.

What will you do during the internship?

Promotion Strategy & Planning:

1. Develop and manage an annual promotion calendar for the Off-Trade channel, aligned with brand priorities, customer needs, and targets.

2. Define clear objectives and guardrails for promotions, ensuring commercial alignment and consistency with revenue management principles.

Promo Effectiveness & ROI:

3. Lead the post-evaluation of promotional activities, measuring ROI, incrementality, and alignment with strategic objectives.

4. Recommend improvements based on insights to enhance future promo performance and reduce inefficiencies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

5. Collaborate closely with Revenue Management, Sales, Trade Marketing, and Finance to plan, execute, and optimize promotions across the Off-Trade.

6. Act as the key point of contact for promo strategy within the Off-Trade team, ensuring strong alignment with customer teams and supply chain planning.

Data & Insights:

7. Leverage internal and external data (e.g., Nielsen, sales systems, TPM, PowerBI) to inform promotional decisions and track promotional trends.

8. Monitor competitor activity and market shifts to adapt promo tactics and identify new growth opportunities.

Customer Focus:

9. Work together with Key Account Managers to tailor promotional mechanics and calendars by customer, ensuring joint business planning is supported with data-led promo insights.

10. Contribute to customer negotiations by providing promo insights and robust post-promo analysis.

Process Improvement & Governance:

11. Drive standardization and transparency in promo planning and reporting processes.

12. Ensure promo investments are tracked and reported accurately in line with budgeting cycles.

Internship duration:

3 months, 6 months preferred, starting in September

Compensation:

Unpaid (with potential for full-time employment post-internship)

Learning opportunities:

70% of your learning will come from on-the-job learning. As an intern, you'll get the chance to experience the real-life business whilst developing your skills - learning through experiencing different areas and building your own reputation.

20% of your learning will come from mentorship programs, coaching, collaboration with key stakeholders & plenty of opportunities for feedback.

10% of your learning will come from formal training, including workshops & online training courses. We will provide you with continuous opportunities to elevate your skills with access to free training sessions facilitated by AB InBev and LinkedIn Learning.

What we’re looking for:

13. Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

14. Experience in the FMCG sector, preferably in promo, revenue management or finance.

15. Strong analytical capabilities with experience in promo analysis, pricing, or trade investment optimization.

16. Proficiency in tools like Excel, PowerBI, SAP, and Nielsen or other data platforms.

17. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at different levels.

18. Fluent in English and either Dutch or French. Bilingual proficiency is a plus.

19. Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
