Job Title: General Accounting Manager – Global Business Services (Record To Report) About the Role As the GBS RTR (Record to Report) General Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of General Accounting professionals, driving process improvements, and ensuring the efficient execution of financial operations. This role requires close collaboration with RTR Global Business Services (GBS) stakeholders, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partners, and internal colleagues to deliver high-quality financial services. Main Responsibilities Will Include: Strategic Oversight of Indirect Tax (VAT-Intrastat) & Reconciliations: Provide strategic direction and oversight for VAT compliance and account reconciliation processes. Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting while identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and standardization across regions. Drive operational excellence in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external service providers. Governance & Compliance Leadership: Champion a strong internal control environment by ensuring full compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and corporate policies. Proactively mitigate financial and operational risks by embedding robust governance practices into daily operations. Project & Change Management: Lead and sponsor key initiatives, including system upgrades and process transformation projects, to enhance efficiency, scalability, and service quality. Act as a change agent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. People Leadership & Talent Development: Build and lead a high-performing team aligned with BD Finance’s strategic vision and values. Drive talent development through structured onboarding, coaching, performance management, and succession planning. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that supports engagement, growth, and accountability. Performance Management & Reporting: Oversee the monitoring and reporting of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators in partnership with the BPO provider. Leverage data-driven insights to drive performance improvements and ensure alignment with business objectives. About You Master/bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Finance, including at least several years in a people role Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills Demonstrated resilience and persistence in overcoming challenges Agile mindset with a proactive approach to change Shown leadership ability to inspire, empower, and guide teams toward shared goals Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP is a strong advantage Skills and Certifications Master's degree in finance or accounting People management experience
