Job Description
Fohntech Group are looking for an ICT Package Manager to join their team in Belgium.
The ICT Package Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management, coordination, and delivery of Information and Communication Technology systems within large-scale data centre projects. This role ensures that ICT works are fully integrated with the overall construction programme, delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with client, statutory, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Package Management & Delivery
1. Manage the ICT package from design development through procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
2. Coordinate ICT works including (but not limited to):
3. Structured cabling systems
4. Data networks and fibre infrastructure
5. Audio-visual and security system interfaces
6. BMS, EPMS, and DCIM interfaces
7. Telecoms rooms, MMRs, and data halls ICT fit-out
8. Ensure ICT systems align with the client’s Employer’s Requirements, specifications, and operational standards.
Design & Technical Coordination
9. Lead coordination between ICT designers, specialist subcontractors, MEP teams, CSA teams, and client representatives.
10. Review ICT design deliverables for compliance, buildability, and integration with other disciplines.
11. Manage RFIs, technical submissions, shop drawings, and design change processes related to ICT works.
Procurement & Commercial Control
12. Support procurement strategy for ICT subcontractors and vendors.
13. Review and manage subcontractor scopes, schedules, and deliverables.
14. Monitor package budgets, forecasts, variations, and cost reporting in collaboration with the commercial team.
Programme & Interface Management
15. Develop and manage ICT package programmes aligned with the master construction schedule.
16. Identify and mitigate interface risks between ICT, MEP, and CSA packages.
17. Ensure ICT works are sequenced to support commissioning, IST, and phased handovers.
Quality, Testing & Commissioning
18. Ensure ICT installations comply with relevant standards, specifications, and best practices.
19. Manage testing, commissioning, integration testing, and system demonstrations.
20. Oversee snagging, close-out, and documentation for handover including O&M manuals and as-built records.
Health, Safety & Compliance
21. Ensure all ICT works are delivered in compliance with project HSEQ requirements.
22. Promote safe systems of work and coordinate method statements and risk assessments.
23. Ensure statutory and client compliance requirements are met.
Stakeholder & Client Management
24. Act as the main point of contact for ICT-related matters with the client, consultants, and vendors.
25. Provide regular progress reporting and technical input to project leadership.
26. Support client acceptance and operational readiness activities.
Key Skills & Competencies
27. Strong understanding of ICT systems within mission-critical or data centre environments.
28. Excellent coordination and interface management skills.
29. Commercial awareness and contract administration experience.
30. Ability to manage complex technical information and multiple stakeholders.
31. Strong problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
Qualifications & Experience
32. Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in a similar role within data centre, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
33. Experience working for a main contractor or specialist ICT contractor preferred.
34. Familiarity with data centre standards and frameworks (e.g. TIA, BICSI, ISO, EN, Uptime Institute) desirable.
