Overview
The Brussels International Center (BIC) is seeking a proactive and well-connected
Partnerships and Outreach Coordinator
to support engagement with
EU institutions—particularly the European Parliament—and civil society organizations
in Brussels.
The ideal candidate will play a central role in developing and maintaining partnerships with NGOs, advocacy groups, and MEPs, as well as coordinating meetings, events, and communication efforts related to ongoing research and public initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
· Networking and partnerships: Identify, reach out to, and maintain regular contact with MEPs, their assistants, and representatives of NGOs, think tanks, and advocacy platforms in Brussels.
· Institutional coordination: Support dialogue and collaboration with EU institutions, including monitoring relevant committees, hearings, and events at the European Parliament.
· Event organization: Coordinate policy roundtables, public discussions, and advocacy events involving EU and civil society partners.
· Communication: Draft invitations, briefing notes, and follow-up summaries for meetings and events.
· Representation: Attend relevant Brussels-based events, meetings, or conferences to expand the project's network and visibility.
· Administrative support: Maintain an updated contact database, schedule meetings, and manage correspondence with institutional and NGO partners.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor or Master's degree in
Political Science, European Studies, Law, International Relations, Development Studies
, or another relevant field.
· Demonstrated familiarity with
EU institutions and Brussels' policy environment
("EU bubble"), ideally through prior experience or internships with an EU body, NGO, or think tank.
· Excellent command of
English and French
, both spoken and written; additional languages are an asset.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with diplomacy and cultural sensitivity.
· Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
* Established network or familiarity with European Parliament members and NGO coalitions.
* Experience in event organization and stakeholder coordination in Brussels.
* Interest in advocacy and initiatives related to migration, gender, racial justice and socio-political dynamics in the Middle East, North Africa, and other postcolonial contexts is an advantage.
