Senior Information Security Engineer / Cyber Security Specialist
Type: Full-time, contract-based
We are looking for an experienced Senior Information Security Engineer to strengthen our cyber security capabilities and help protect critical digital infrastructure.
In this role, you will be responsible for proactively identifying, monitoring, and mitigating cyber security risks across multiple layers of the IT environment. You will work closely with security and operational teams to investigate incidents, manage vulnerabilities, and improve the overall security posture of the organization.
Key responsibilities
Monitor security events and incidents as part of a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment
Investigate suspicious activities, analyze root causes, and coordinate remediation actions
Maintain and optimize security monitoring tools to ensure effective detection and protection
Perform penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses
Manage and follow up on vulnerability remediation processes
Document security incidents, test response measures, and assess business impact
Contribute to proactive security improvements aligned with evolving cyber threats and business priorities
Your profile
5+ years of experience in information security, cyber security operations, or security engineering
Strong hands‑on experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and vulnerability management
Solid knowledge of cyber risk management, web security, and information security best practices
Familiarity with OWASP principles and application security concepts
Experience working with security monitoring tools and security processes in enterprise environments
Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively within cross‑functional teams
Strong ownership mindset with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented approach
Analytical mindset with strong conceptual thinking
Proactive, autonomous, and able to take initiative
Clear, structured, and convincing communication style

Dutch: fluent/professional level
