LLBG is divided in 4 innovative 'Business Units', each with specific activities, target groups and markets. The umbrella organization is the Executive Committee. The headquarters are in Ninove and Erpe Mere, close to the largest fresh bakery where the LLBG story ever began. Position
Lorraine Bakery Group is strongly committed to the ongoing digitalization of its production and quality processes through its strategic "Factory of the Future" program. This initiative aims to create a production environment where employees are empowered by standardized technologies and real-time insights, enabling the delivery of top-quality products in the most efficient way possible. One of the key early projects is the rollout of a centralized Manufacturing Data Platform. This platform collects and unifies data from machines, sensors, and systems to give real-time insights into what’s happening on the shop floor — from quality trends to energy usage — helping teams make faster and better decisions.
As a IT Manufacturing Applications Specialist, you contribute to the successful implementation and further rollout of the Manufacturing Data Platform across the production lines and sites of LLBG:
Project Rollout
* Lead and support the rollout of the Manufacturing Data Platform across multiple production lines and sites as IT track lead.
* Manage the daily operation of the platform, including rights management, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting of technical issues.
* Actively follow up on issues and lessons learned to improve platform stability.
Technical Design & Best Practices
* Document and manage the system landscape of the Manufacturing Applications.
* Provide guidance on best practices for data collection, storage (InfluxDB), and visualization (Grafana).
* Expand the platform to support new data producers and consumers in a scalable way.
* Contribute to the standardization of the IT/OT architecture and the development of a unified namespace.
Systems Integration & Data Management
* Translate operational and business needs into functional digital solutions and platform configurations.
* Streamline and maintain robust data flows between machines, sensors, MES, ERP, and the Manufacturing Data Platform.
* Work with industrial communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, OPC-UA, AMQP) to support seamless IT/OT integration.
* Design and manage event-driven logic flows (e.g., MQTT to historian, simplified MES messaging).
* Ensure accurate and secure setup of data sources for real-time monitoring and historical analysis.
* Identify required data sources and ensure correct setup for real-time monitoring and historical analysis.
* Close collaboration with the data team.
* Actively contribute to the configuration and evolution of MES and SAP systems as part of broader digital manufacturing goals.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
* Act as a bridge between production, engineering, and IT—communicating effectively with operators, key users, automation engineers, and data teams.
* Play an active role in broader digital transformation projects within the Manufacturing & Quality domain, from business case intake to implementation and follow-up.
* Provide documentation, training, and support to internal users to ensure successful adoption and knowledge transfer.
Profile
Experience and background
* You have a master’s degree in engineering, IT, Business, or equivalent experience, with strong analytical skills in manufacturing IT, ERP, MES, or industrial data platforms.
* You are familiar with Industry 4.0, ISA-95, and Unified Namespace (UNS) and have experience with databases like SQL and InfluxDB, as well as data tools such as Node-Red and Grafana.
* You understand industrial communication protocols like MQTT, AMQP, and OPC-UA and have knowledge of cloud-based data architectures and AI-driven analytics.
* You have experience in digital transformation, process optimization, and managing change within manufacturing environments.
