Public Affairs Department plays a strategic role as the interface between the company and its institutional, political, regulatory and societal environment
Its main goal is to defend the company's interests, particularly with a view to supporting its mission relating to the energy transition, by anticipating, monitoring and analysing relevant political and regulatory developments
Our Public Affairs Department is looking for a Public Affairs Officer – Flanders (m/f/x).
Job purpose
* As Public Affairs Officer for Flanders, you will represent Fluxys within the Flemish political landscape and contribute to our strategic positioning
* You will identify and analyse relevant political and societal developments and translate them into tangible initiatives to support Fluxys' mission, namely accelerating the energy transition and developing innovative, reliable and sustainable infrastructure
* Your contribution will reinforce Fluxys' position as a key partner in the energy transition
Your responsibilities
* You will define and implement the public affairs strategy for Flanders in line with Fluxys' vision and our projects linked to hydrogen, ammonia, CO₂, CH4 and biomethane
* You will establish and maintain a strong network involving policymakers, public authorities, sectoral federations and other key stakeholders
* You will actively monitor political, regulatory and legislative developments at Flemish level and analyse their strategic impact on our activities
* You will develop clear and persuasive standpoints in policy notes, briefings and presentations to support our external positioning
* You will represent Fluxys in working groups, on consultation platforms and at institutional events, defending our interests and promoting our projects
* You will inform and advise internal teams on political, societal and regulatory trends impacting our current and future projects
About you
* You hold a master's degree in political science, law, economics or a related field
* You have at least five years' experience in public affairs or a similar role, preferably with significant involvement in the Flemish context
* You possess excellent knowledge of the Flemish political landscape and relevant decision-making processes
* You have proven experience in stakeholder management and can forge robust relationships
* You have a real affinity for energy, infrastructure and the challenges of the energy transition
* You are fluent in spoken and written Dutch and have a good command of French and English
* You are a team player and work effectively with different departments. You are a proactive, strategic thinker and can translate complex issues into clear, high-impact messaging
