Job Description:
Prominent Process Safety Consultant wanted to lead and deliver complex process safety deliverables for various sectors, including Life Sciences and Advanced Manufacturing. Key responsibilities include chairing Process Hazard Analysis, writing Explosion Protection Documents, generating Hazardous Area Classifications, and executing Quantitative Risk Analyses. Ideal candidate will have a degree in Process/Chemical engineering, at least 15 years of experience in process design, and proficiency in EU health & safety legislation.
Responsibilities:
* Preparation and chairing of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), e.g., HAZID, Hazard and Operability (HAZOP), LOPA etc.
* Writing an Explosion Protection Document (EPD)
* Generating a Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) – ATEX/DSEAR assessment
* Completing Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), i.e., Seveso (COMAH)/Safety Report Preparation
* Consequence Modelling, i.e., Toxic Dispersion/Fire/Explosion Modelling
* Executing Process Safety Calculations e.g. Pressure Relief Device (PRD) / Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) Sizing
* Generating project Basis of Safety (BoS) report
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must possess excellent awareness of process safety engineering and process safety management, along with exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Chartered or working towards Chartered Status is mandatory. Excellent knowledge of EU health & safety legislation is also required.
