Software Engineer - Software Quality Assurance Job Description In this position... We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Quality, Warranty, Verification & Validation organization. This role is critical in driving early defect detection and prevention to enhance software quality across our automotive platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for coaching and training teams to improve software engineering practices.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead early defect detection and prevention strategies across software development.
2. Define methods and strategies for process improvement to enhance software quality and reliability.
3. Conduct software design reviews to ensure compliance with architectural and quality standards.
4. Support Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) efforts to proactively identify and mitigate software risks.
5. Participate in engineering joint reviews and quality reviews to ensure best practices in software development.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve software verification and validation processes.
7. Analyze warranty, field, and test data to identify systemic software quality issues and drive corrective actions.
8. Partner with suppliers and internal teams to enhance software quality, focusing on infotainment, connected gateways, and telematics.
9. Coach and train engineering teams on software quality best practices, including ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ASPICE compliance.
10. Contribute to process development and improvement within the software quality organization.
11. Effectively communicate complex software issues to both engineering teams and executive leadership.
Basics:
12. Software Quality (Sqa/Sqc).
13. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related degree.
14. 7+ years of software engineering experience in the automotive industry, with a strong focus on quality, warranty analysis, or verification & validation.
15. Proven expertise in software defect detection and prevention methodologies.
16. Experience in software design reviews to ensure compliance with architectural and quality standards.
17. Strong background in Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) for software systems.
18. Experience in ISO 26262 Functional Safety implementation and assessments.
19. Strong embedded software development expertise, with experience in C/C++, AUTOSAR, or similar technologies.
20. Excellent communication, coaching, and training skills to drive cultural and technical improvements.
21. Experience working with infotainment, connected gateways, or telematics is highly desired.
22. Hybrid position.
