We are looking for a Head of Combination Products Assembly and Packaging who is visionary, people-centered, and operationally rigorous to join our Braine Pharma Manufacturing team, based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l'Alleud, Wallonia, Belgium.
About the role
You’re going to lead the day-to-day and long-term performance of our Combination Products Assembly & Packaging organization—manufacturing lines and support functions included. You will set clear objectives, build the right structure and capabilities, and drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost outcomes through meaningful KPIs. You will prepare the future by supporting portfolio evolution and technology advances, including digital transformation that improves data integrity and efficiency. You will also ensure strong compliance with GMP expectations, inspection readiness, and an environment where people can do their best work—safely and inclusively.
Who you will work with
You will partner daily with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the site,especially with the Devices Artwork and Packaging department. You will also maintain constructive relationships with social partners/unions and internal and external customers—ensuring commitments are met and collaboration stays strong.
Your team
Combination Products Assembly & Packaging plays an essential role at the intersection of pharmaceutical expertise and technological innovation. You’re going to join a team specialized in assembling drug–device combination products with precision, and in packaging drug products to protect quality, ensure safe transport, and support ease of use for patients. The team operates to the highest safety and quality standards, with a strong focus on reliability, continuous improvement, and patient impact.
What you will do
You will set direction, objectives, and KPIs for safety, quality, delivery, people, cost, and environment.
1. You will lead daily operations to meet commercial needs, maximize output, and protect plan adherence.
2. You will drive portfolio transformation and technology upgrades, including digital improvements to efficiency and data integrity.
3. You will own GMP compliance, inspection readiness, qualification/validation, deviations, and change control—on time and right-first-time.
4. You will manage budgets and investments, justify priorities, monitor deviations, and deliver sustainable cost and reliability gains.
5. You will develop people: recruit, onboard, coach, train, review performance, build talent pipelines, and sustain a healthy social climate.

For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills :
6. 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with strong manufacturing exposure.
7. 3 years’ experience leading manufacturing teams (lines + support functions) in a regulated environment.
8. A hands‑on leadership style, with a genuine interest in being close to operations and connected to day‑to‑day shop‑floor reality.
9. Master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Operations, or a related field is a plus
10. Proven leadership, communication, and ability to develop inclusive, high-performing teams.
11. Strong financial ownership: budget control, investment planning, and resource optimization.
12. Solid GMP and EHS knowledge; ability to translate risk into practical prevention and performance.
13. Fluent in French and English
