Your Role
As a Data Architect, you’ll shape the foundations of our enterprise data platform and ensure its scalability, performance, and reliability.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design solutions that enable secure, governed, and high-value data usage across the organization.
You’ll also serve as a Microsoft Data Platform reference, guiding colleagues on the strategic use of technologies like Fabric, Azure Synapse, Power BI, Data Factory, Data Lake Gen2, Purview, and Azure SQL, particularly for data warehousing, engineering, analytics, and AI.
This role blends architecture, governance, and consulting, with the opportunity to run workshops, perform platform assessments, and coach teams to extract maximum value from Microsoft’s data ecosystem.
Your Key Responsibilities
✅ Design and evolve enterprise data architecture (Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Mesh)
✅ Provide strategic guidance on Microsoft Data Platform technologies (Fabric, Synapse, Power BI...)
✅ Architect end-to-end data solutions aligned with business goals and governance standards
✅ Conduct modernization assessments and define transformation paths via Fabric and Synapse
✅ Define standards for data modeling, security, lineage, quality, and GDPR compliance, leveraging Purview and RBAC
✅ Foster a DataOps culture with CI/CD and Power BI deployment pipelines
✅ Coach the team on Power BI Semantic Models, Direct Lake Mode, and Fabric OneLake /Lakehouse architectures
✅ Create reusable blueprints and architectural patterns
✅ Act as a bridge between technical, data, and business teams
Your Profile
✔ 5+ years of experience in data architecture or cloud data engineering
✔ Confident in consulting and strategic facilitation with business and IT audiences
✔ Excellent communicator, able to produce clear architecture diagrams
✔ Advanced expertise in data architecture (Data Warehouse, Data Lake) and dimensional data modeling for relational databases.
✔ Passionate about bringing structure and clarity to complex environments
✔ Fluent in English; French or Dutch is a plus
✔ Mindful of cost optimization (FinOps) in Azure designs
Technical Skills
* Microsoft Data Platform: Fabric, Power BI, Data Lake Gen2, Purview, Azure SQL
* T-SQL, DAX, Power Query (M).
* Python, SQL optimization, data security/compliance (GDPR), and DevOps/DataOps principles for automation.
* Data Modeling: Kimball, Data Vault, 3NF, tabular/semantic
* CI/CD and pipeline industrialization
* Governance & Metadata: Purview, RBAC, MDM, lineage
* Architecture blueprints, environment management (dev/test/prod)
* Azure cost optimization and performance tuning
* Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g. expertise in GCP services like Dataflow, Cloud Storage, or Cloud Azure services like Synapse Analytics, Data Factory, Databricks)
