International Business Development LeadBrussels with international travel across Western EuropeFull time – PermanentAbout the RoleThis role is responsible for driving international business development activity across Western Europe. The successful candidate will identify and qualify new opportunities, assess their viability, and support capture activities across the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) portfolio. The position requires close management of customer relationships across the region, alongside shaping and aligning both regional and global strategies. You will also contribute to the development of country-specific and regional growth plans, ensuring the sustainability of current programmes while identifying new avenues for expansion. Working cross-functionally, you will collaborate with teams across the organisation, including Global Business Development, Programme Management, Operations, Finance, and other business areas. Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, qualify and develop new business opportunities across Western EuropeAssess market opportunities and support capture activities across the RMS portfolioBuild and maintain strong relationships with international customers and stakeholdersDevelop and implement country and regional business development plansSupport and help shape regional and global strategyCoordinate activity across multiple internal functions and business areasAlign customer requirements with internal capabilities and programme deliveryRequired skills, qualifications and experience10–15+ years’ experience in business development and/or operational rolesFluent in English, with at least one additional European language preferredWillingness and ability to travel internationally as requiredComfortable operating in a fast-paced, competitive international environmentSelf-motivated, with the ability to work independentlyTechnical and sector knowledge:Strong understanding of combat weapon systems (including Aegis, Ballistic Missile Defence, and IAMD architectures, including Command & Control systems)Knowledge of rotary wing capabilities and operational useUnderstanding of Western European government structures and defence procurement processesFamiliarity with US military strategy and its role in the Western Europe region Desirable Skills & ExperienceStrong interpersonal skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholdersAbility to build and sustain effective customer relationships (internal and external)Commercial awareness, including financial planning and decision-makingExperience interpreting customer needs and translating them into strategic outcomesKnowledge of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales processesExperience working with US Embassies, NATO, and regional defence organisationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCultural awareness across Western EuropeExperience in the military rotary wing marketStrong presentation skills Personal AttributesCollaborative team player with the ability to influence across diverse groupsProactive and results-oriented, with a track record of delivering outcomesStrong organisational skills and attention to detailCurious and motivated to develop a broad understanding of the full portfolioAble to see opportunities through to completionLockheed Martin is committed to upholding principles of equal opportunity, fostering a work environment that is aligned with our core values of integrity, respect, and exceptional performance.
