Our client is looking for a Product Developer, with education and experience in Food Science, to join their team in a full-time permanent role for their facility in Waterloo!

As the ideal candidate, you will have a Food Science Degree and a minimum of Five (5) years of experience working with food formulations and recipes.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor Degree in Food Science is a requirement.
2. Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a product development environment, preferably food manufacturing.
3. Experience in a customer-driven environment where sales and research development play critical roles in driving business strategy.
4. Strong plant operations knowledge.
5. Ability to work hands-on to analyze formulas and build on that knowledge to form new products
6. Entrepreneurial approach to business problems and resolutions.
7. Strong sense of curiosity to be able to dig deeply into existing products to determine composition.
8. Strong knowledge and experience with system driven production
9. Demonstrates a strong sense of internal and external customer satisfaction as a top priority.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
11. Working hands-on with ingredients, to develop and formulate prototypes for new products
12. Update and improve existing formulas
13. Trouble shoot ingredient and formula related production issues
14. Analyze market products to gain insight into development of new similar or better products
15. Be familiar with suppliers ·and alternates
16. Inspect incoming raw materials
17. Be cross trained quality control function
18. Other duties as required by the Technical manager
