Interim Finance / Business Controller – Kortrijk, Belgium
3-6 month day rate contract | Start ASAP | On-site / Hybrid
*This role will require proximity to the company's office in Kortrijk, with 3 days onsite and the ability to travel to Denmark within the first 3 months. Please be advised that this is a requirement for this position.
We’re supporting a fast-paced, scale-up D2C group who are looking for a hands-on interim Business Controller, sitting in the group finance hub in Belgium, working directly with one of their brands in Denmark.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of monthly close support and day-to-day controlling activities
* Manage hands-on financial tasks including inventory reconciliation and accruals (booking/releasing)
* Ensure strong KPI tracking, performance control, and reliable reporting
* Work closely with local stakeholders (commercial & operational teams) to understand business drivers
* Support documentation, process capture, and full handover to the incoming permanent hire
* Maintain stability and financial control through the next quarter
What We’re Looking For
* Strong experience in business controlling with an accounting background
* Confident delivering in a manual / operational environment (scale-up mindset essential)
* Excel-first, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning recurring processes
* Proactive, pragmatic, and collaborative — able to work closely with the team during transition
* Ideally 5+ years’ experience for interim level impact and independence
