SLIMS is a platform that allows supervising all stages a sample follows to the final result. SLIMS captures information about the sample, requests for measurements, and follows its entire workflow through the lab, supervising manual operating procedures, automated instrument steps, and calculations until the final report. The focus of the SLIMS Store team is on providing configuration packages that provide our customers with solutions to reduce time in setting up SLIMS for their laboratory needs and additional functionality on top of the core product that is SLIMS. As a Java Developer in the Store R&D team, your focus will be on writing plug-in code that provides additional functionality on top of the core product. These plug-ins are run within the environment of SLIMS. You will provide support for these plug-ins by answering questions from the delivery teams and sales teams, as well as remediate reported defects.
Your main responsibilities will be:
1. Write new code and fix bugs within the existing SLIMS Store codebase
2. Interact with Store Application Engineers to create market-ready packages, and with other Developers to complete new plug-in code
3. Interact with the Delivery teams and Sales team to provide support regarding the implementation of the plug-ins at customers and in demos
4. Participate in code reviews for Store plug-ins
This position is based in Ghent, Belgium with the flexibility to work according to a hybrid model (3 days in office, 2 days at home) after the on-boarding period.

Qualifications
We are looking for motivated individuals with the following background:
5. University Degree in a field related to Computer Science and/or Software Engineering.
6. Strong hands-on experience with/competence in Java.
7. Full proficiency in English. Proficiency in Dutch and/or French would be a plus.
8. Experience with IntelliJ, Jira and Git are a plus
On a personal level, you possess great problem solving and analytical skills and you are eager to learn about new software technology, instruments, applications, and consumables. You have communication interpersonal skills to interact at various levels. You enjoy both working within a team and autonomously.
