We are recruiting for a Northern EMEA EHS Manager within Stryker Netherlands, and we are looking for someone who can lead the hands-on elements of EHS, drive strategic objectives, and lead the entire EHS function across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Nordics!
The Commercial EHS Manager will bring EHS leadership and direction to the team and is responsible for the commercial EHS program implementation to the workforce (office, warehouse, kitting/distribution and remote/field employees).
Lead, drive, inspect and evaluate the EHS system looking continuously at improvements that can be made.
What you will do:
1. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of site operations and detailed processes and ensure key risks are well-understood and mitigated through the site Management System and action plans.
2. Has the ability to positively influence with Commercial Leadership and stakeholders.
3. Responsible for implementing, developing and leading the EHS initiatives within the NE Commercial Business.
4. Develop policies, procedures and assessments that ensure a local EHS management system is in place to reduce risk.
5. Develop, deploy, and monitor the Global EHS strategic goals across the NE Commercial Business.
6. Ensures, in accordance with the corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the company's EHS systems and processes.
7. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical).
8. Interacting with a variety of departments and conducting training where required.
9. Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies. Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety improvements exist.
10. Leads accident/incident investigations and carries out analysis of accident/incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvements.
11. Can present findings to local and global leadership teams with compelling evidence to support recommendations.
12. Conducts safety audits both internally and externally.
13. Provides safety support and advice, including supervision of the preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start-up activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
14. Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
15. Experience supporting a Radiation Safety Program or workers.
16. Fleunt English is required and Ducth or a Nordic language is perferred.
17. 8+ years of experience in EHS in a Commercial MedTech or Pharma environment. Industry certifications such as NOBOSH, ASP, CSP, CHMM a plus.
18. Knowledge of EHS regulations and experience working with regulatory agencies.
19. Be adept at working under pressure and demonstrate the ability to confidently make decisions with incomplete or conflicting data applying sound judgment and good reasoning skills.
20. High proficiency with standard office programs such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Ability to manipulate, analyze, and summarize data to provide key insights and develop strategic and tactical plans.
21. Interact and support at all organizational levels, both internal and external to the company. Work effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to add value to the organization.
22. Collect and analyze data using commercial and in-house platforms. Effectively communicate information to verify EHS compliance and continuous improvement efforts.
23. Develop and implement EHS programs, strategies, and standards based on global and local needs.
24. Conduct EHS assessments and facilitate assurance processes for commercial locations.
25. Knowledge of ISO 14001, 45001, and 50001 preferred.
