Drive Transformational Change
The Operational Excellence Engineer plays a pivotal role in leading and driving continuous improvement and lean deployment across the CAR-T sites in Belgium. As a key member of the leadership team, this individual supports transformational change and develops lean competencies to ensure their embedding and sustenance within the organization.
Working closely with Joint J&J/Legend site management, OpEx teams, and business leaders, this role ensures best practice sharing and successful deployment of OpEx methodologies. Effective communication, coordination, and collaboration are crucial in establishing a strong continuous improvement and problem-solving culture.
This critical position involves challenging the status quo, identifying, and shaping next-wave business improvement opportunities in the CAR-T sites in Belgium to generate value. Developing and presenting business cases to decision-makers is also essential. The engineer will lead the implementation of assigned OpEx initiatives and other improvement projects, utilizing lean methodologies such as 5S, standard work, visual management, kanban, pareto, and others to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control improvement initiatives.
A key aspect of this role is supporting training and awareness of OpEx tools and methodologies. Building organizational capability beyond the OpEx team in the deployment of improvement methodologies, tools, and practices is also vital. Facilitating and coaching teams and individuals to apply tools and certify GB and YBs is necessary. Additionally, acting as a change agent, this individual will support peers and management in realizing changes on-site and influencing leaders without direct authority to enhance culture and mindset.
Fostering connections with the global OpEx organization for knowledge exchange, benchmarking, identifying, and driving adoption of proven practices is also an important responsibility.
