Payroll & HR Operations Specialist (Belgium)
About the Role
As a Payroll & HR Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for Belgium while supporting general HR operations. You will work closely with internal teams and external payroll providers to deliver high-quality, compliant, and employee-focused services. The role sits within an international environment and requires strong coordination, precision, and ownership.
You will report to the Head of Group Payroll Operations for payroll-related activities and to the Head of Group HR Operations for HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
Ensure accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing for Belgium, in collaboration with external payroll providers and the local payroll team.
Prepare, control, and finalize monthly payroll cycles.
Manage annual payroll calculations, including:
Single and double holiday pay
Holiday attestations
13th month
Warrants and other annual benefits
Handle leavers' payroll calculations.
Manage and monitor interfaces between payroll and other HR or financial systems.
Ensure full compliance with Belgian social security and tax legislation.
HR Operations
Support and contribute to general HR operations activities.
Act as a reliable point of contact for operational HR and payroll-related questions.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with People & Organization colleagues and internal stakeholders such as Finance and IT.
Contribute to process optimization and issue resolution with a customer-focused mindset.
Share payroll and HR expertise with colleagues in a natural and collaborative way.
Create and maintain clear documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and SharePoint content.
Act as a change agent by actively supporting process alignment and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
3–5 years of proven experience in payroll processing.
Strong knowledge of Belgian payroll, social security, and tax legislation.
Hands-on experience with eBlox Payroll (SD Worx) is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel) and HR systems.
Fluent in English and either Dutch or French.
Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
High level of accuracy and ability to meet strict deadlines.
