We ARE Renewables is looking for an Expert Engineer Structures Calculations to support high-voltage infrastructure projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, calculation, and engineering of steel structures used in overhead high-voltage lines (380 kV, 220 kV, 150 kV, 70 kV, 36 kV).
You will work on both new tower designs and modifications to existing structures, contributing to key projects that form the backbone of Belgium’s energy network.
* Key ResponsibilitiesConduct technical studies and design new towers/structures or modifications for existing high-voltage lines.
* Perform specialized structural calculations using engineering and finite element tools.
* Prepare and manage the planning of engineering studies, aligning with project needs.
* Guide and support designers (internal and external) in developing accurate design and calculation models.
* Prepare tender documentation and participate in the procurement process.
* Follow up on the production, delivery, and testing of towers and structural components at manufacturers.
* Provide technical support on-site during installation and construction phases.
* Conduct quality control checks and provide reporting.
* Contribute to the optimization and implementation of calculation rules in engineering software.
* Collaborate closely with internal departments, project managers, suppliers, contractors, and customers.
Requirements
* Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or Physics.
* Strong affinity for technical and detailed calculations.
* Demonstrated experience in steel structure design.
* Proficiency with engineering software, 3D tools, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
* Familiarity with Eurocodes and relevant structural standards.
* Experience in engineering or expert roles is considered a strong plus.
* Knowledge of the following tools is an advantage: MS Project, VB.NET, VBA scripting, Fortran.
