To strengthen our Finance team at our HQ, we are looking for a **Credit Accountant** who combines financial accuracy with a hands-on, people-oriented mindset.**Your Role**As Credit Accountant, you play a key role in safeguarding healthy cash flow while maintaining strong relationships with our customers and internal stakeholders. You balance analytical precision with proactive follow-up, and you enjoy working in a dynamic, international environment where collaboration and continuous improvement are key.**Your Responsibilities**Credit Management* Daily processing and booking of bank statements and factoring transactions (Belgium & international), ensuring correct matching with outstanding invoices.* Proactive follow-up of open customer balances via email and phone, with a strong focus on timely payments and DSO reduction.* Sending payment reminders according to defined procedures and escalating overdue payments in close collaboration with Sales, Dispatch and Customer Service.* Daily monitoring of customers exceeding credit limits and taking appropriate actions (delivery blocks, escalation to Sales).* Acting as the first point of contact for the credit insurer (e.g. Atradius), including applications and follow-up of claims in case of non-payment.* Monitoring invoices submitted to the factoring company and proactively aligning on processing, payments and technical issues.* Processing and following up on exceptional payment methods such as international cheques.* Managing the AR mailbox and answering customer questions regarding invoices, payments and disputes.* Identifying recurring issues (e.g. invoicing errors, disputes, inefficient processes) and proposing concrete improvement actions.* Actively contributing to the automation and optimisation of AR processes and tools.Accounting Support* Preparing payment files in the ERP system.* Creating and maintaining accurate customer and supplier master data (VAT details, bank accounts, addresses, credit limits).* Supporting the accounting team with daily tasks such as booking purchase invoices, processing expense reports and other administrative duties.**Who You Are*** You hold a **Bachelor or Master’s degree** in Accounting, Finance or a similar field.* You have a first relevant experience as a Credit Accountant or in a similar AR/accounting role.* You work accurately and structured, with a sharp eye for detail.* You are proactive, communicative and not afraid to follow up by phone or email.* You enjoy working cross-functionally and know how to build constructive relationships with both internal teams and external partners.* Knowledge of **Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central** is a plus.* You are fluent in **English**; knowledge of **Dutch and/or French** is an asset.**What We Offer*** A **full-time position** at the colourful HQ of Essentiel Antwerp.* A dynamic, international and creative work environment where entrepreneurship is encouraged.* The opportunity to grow and develop your skills within Finance, with real **career progression possibilities**.* A competitive salary package complemented by attractive benefits.* A warm, inclusive company culture with an eye for people, creativity and fun – because working hard can (and should) go hand in hand with enjoying the ride.### Attention required!
