Freelance Electrical Engineer – 6-Month Contract
Location: Flanders, Belgium | Food & Beverage Manufacturing
A well-established international food and beverage manufacturer is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support site operations on an initial 6-month full-time freelance contract, with strong potential for extension.
The Role
You will provide hands-on electrical support across a high-volume production environment, covering maintenance, fault-finding, and upgrade activity. You’ll play a key role in site reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Electrical maintenance and breakdown support in a regulated production environment
* Fault diagnosis and root cause analysis on automated equipment
* Support machine installations, upgrades, and commissioning
* Ensure compliance with electrical safety, hygiene, and permit systems
* Produce clear technical reports and documentation
* Contribute to shutdowns and improvement projects
About You
* Proven industrial experience as an Electrical Engineer or Senior Electrical Technician
* Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control panels, motors, and automation
* Previous experience in food & beverage, FMCG, or regulated manufacturing preferred
* Confident working independently in a contractor role
* Safety-conscious, organised, and reliable
* English required; French or Dutch beneficial but not essential
