Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking an experienced Ecotoxicology & Environmental Risk Assessment expert to join our well‑respected team in Europe. This role focuses on advising clients in agrochemicals, biocides, and REACH, helping them navigate the EU regulatory environment.
Role Responsibilities
* Provide high‑quality ecotoxicology and risk assessment consultancy to clients and ERM staff.
* Understand clients’ desired outcomes and collaborate to ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
* Represent ERM in client meetings and address ecotoxicology queries.
* Contribute to business development through client visits, conferences, and expert groups.
* Evaluate and summarize ecotoxicology data, ecological risk assessments and study monitoring in line with REACH.
* Keep up with the latest developments in ecotoxicology and environmental risk assessment.
* Collaborate with ERM’s environmental fate, mammalian toxicology, and ecotoxicology experts.
* Define actions, allocate resources, and ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.
* Develop expertise in new EU regulatory developments relevant to the business.
* Assist in the personal development of team members.
* Undertake other scientific and administrative tasks as needed.
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Ecotoxicology, or related field.
* Proven experience conducting ecotoxicological risk assessments.
* Ability to design and conduct ecotoxicology studies.
* Strong knowledge of EU regulations and guidelines, including data requirements for ecotoxicology studies.
* Experience communicating with EU regulatory bodies and participating in expert meetings.
* Collaborative working style across disciplines.
* Proficiency in preparing and supporting dossiers using IUCLID, CHESAR, or similar software with focus on REACH.
* Commitment to delivering high‑quality work exceeding client expectations.
* Strong safety awareness and adherence to Health & Safety protocols.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in ecotoxicological statistical analysis software is preferable.
* Experience with non‑EU regulatory requirements is an asset.
* Previous advocacy group participation is an asset.
