As Director Quality, CSR & Sustainable Development, you are responsible for integrating sustainability and quality into Carrefour's strategy and operations. The goal is to create a positive impact on the environment, society, and the economy, while increasing the value of the organization. In doing so, you guarantee the safety and quality of food and non-food products for both our retail banners and consumers. Finally, you ensure that the brand image of Carrefour Belgium is synonymous with safety, health, quality, environmental awareness, and sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Policy:
Developing, innovating, and implementing a clear and measurable CSR strategy aligned with corporate goals and stakeholder expectations.
Quality and Brand Management:
Protecting the brand through integrated quality management and delivering high-quality products and services that meet customer expectations and legal requirements.
Risk and Crisis Management:
Identifying and managing risks related to sustainability and quality, as well as organizing crisis management (e.g., in the event of product recalls).
Environment and Circular Economy:
Reducing environmental impact (CO2, energy, water, waste) and integrating eco-design and the circular economy within business processes.
Reporting and Transparency:
Ensuring professional and transparent reporting on CSR performance and implementing non-financial KPIs within the framework of sustainability reporting (CSRD).
Stakeholder Dialogue:
Maintaining an active dialogue with employees, customers, suppliers, and communities to understand and respond to their needs.
Lobbying and Public Relations:
External representation with professional federations and NGOs, as well as strategic lobbying to influence regulations in favor of sustainable solutions.
Team Leadership:
As a member of the Executive Committee (ComDir), guiding the department's strategy and leading and developing a high-performing team of 7 people.
Your Profile
Expert in CSR, food safety, quality, health, hygiene, and sustainable development.
Preferably holding a university degree in a scientific field.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience within the agricultural sector, industry, retail, or hospitality.
Extensive knowledge of and an established network in the short supply chain sector (agriculture).
Proactive and Strategic:
You possess deep knowledge of the regulatory framework and societal expectations; you anticipate these and drive the necessary momentum internally.
Experienced people manager capable of leading and guiding a team.
Courageous and decisive; capable of making complex budgetary choices and tough decisions to protect the brand.
An excellent influencer and bridge builder
who breaks down silos by collaborating cross-functionally with various departments.
Fluent in French and Dutch
