Job Description Summary
The organization is undergoing a transformation to redefine Medication Management, enhancing safety, efficiency, and simplicity across the healthcare continuum. As part of this initiative, the Solution Specialist IT for Medication Management Solutions plays a pivotal role in enabling connected pharmacy workflows across the Benelux region.
In this field-based role, you will support the design and pre-sales development of integrated Medication Management Solutions within hospital and pharmacy environments. You will work closely with both customers and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of solutions with healthcare IT systems and workflows.
The role is primarily based in Belgium, with approximately 30% travel to the Netherlands. Candidates should ideally be located in central or northern Belgium with the ability to travel as needed. You will report to the Customer Success Leader and contribute to advancing the organization's connectivity strategy, supporting hospitals in their digital transformation and medication safety efforts.
The Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team leverages strong technical and operational capabilities to manage multiple systems, ensuring medications are available when and where they are needed, reducing inefficiencies and waste for nursing and pharmacy teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pre-sales activities by evaluating customer environments and defining appropriate integration strategies
* Lead technical discussions with hospital IT, pharmacy, and clinical teams to gather requirements and understand workflows
* Design solution architectures aligned with the Medication Management portfolio, cybersecurity standards, and customer needs
* Present and explain interoperability options with hospital systems (HIS, EHR, pharmacy platforms) using HL7, FHIR, XML, and REST APIs
* Participate in customer workshops, demonstrations, and technical sessions to showcase integration concepts and solution designs
* Contribute to tender submissions by preparing technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and integration descriptions
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, technical services, marketing, R&D, and product management to ensure cohesive solution design
* Support value-based discussions, including ROI analysis, and help develop tools and templates to enhance solution quality
Requirements
* Approximately 5 years of experience in hospital connectivity and integrated healthcare IT, including HIS, EHR, and pharmacy systems
* Strong solution architecture expertise, with hands-on experience in HL7, FHIR, XML, and REST APIs, as well as solid foundations in networking and cybersecurity
* Demonstrated pre-sales experience, with the ability to lead technical discussions with IT, pharmacy, and clinical stakeholders
* Experience with hospital connectivity, pharmacy workflows, interface engines, or enterprise application integration environments
* Good understanding of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and XML
* Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS) and cybersecurity principles
* Commercial mindset with strong pre-sales engagement capabilities
* Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
* Degree in IT, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy IT, or a related field
* Fluency in Dutch or French, along with a good command of English
