PCB Design Engineer - Leuven (Belgium) - Permanent Position We're currently recruiting a talented and experienced PCB Design Engineer. As a PCB Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for a variety of electronic devices and systems. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, firmware engineers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the successful design, testing, and manufacturing of PCBs that meet the required specifications and standards. Key Responsibilities: PCB Design: Design and develop multilayer PCBs, considering factors such as layout, routing, signal integrity, power distribution, thermal management, and manufacturability. Schematic Capture: Create schematic diagrams using CAD tools, ensuring accurate representation of circuitry and connectivity. Component Selection: Work with engineering teams to select appropriate components for the PCB design, considering factors such as functionality, availability, cost, and reliability. Signal Integrity Analysis: Perform signal integrity analysis, including impedance matching, signal timing, and noise reduction techniques to ensure robust performance of high-speed digital and analog circuits. EMC/EMI Compliance: Design PCBs to comply with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) standards, minimizing interference and emissions. Prototype Development: Support the development of PCB prototypes, including layout debugging, prototype assembly, and testing. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, firmware engineers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of PCB designs into overall product architecture. Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, layout files, design guidelines, and design validation reports. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in PCB design and manufacturing, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field. Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience in PCB design and layout, preferably in a product development environment. Proficiency in CAD tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar. Strong understanding of PCB design principles, including high-speed digital and analog circuits, power distribution, and thermal management. Experience with signal integrity analysis tools such as HyperLynx or similar. Familiarity with EMC/EMI compliance standards and mitigation techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
