Context
As a Real Estate Investment Analyst, you will join the Real Estate Investment team at Degroof Petercam, contributing to the origination, analysis, and execution of real estate investment opportunities for private banking clients. You will play a key role in supporting the Real Estate Investment Committee (REIC) process, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring robust governance and client-centric solutions across a range of real estate products.
Your position
Investment Analysis & Due Diligence
Analyse real estate investment opportunities, including club deals, funds, and direct investments, by conducting market studies, financial modelling, business plan assessment, and due diligence on assets and counterparties.
Evaluate investment proposals against REIC criteria: track record, risk management, alignment with strategy, liquidity profile, fees, regulatory compliance, and ESG factors.
Prepare and present investment memoranda and supporting documentation for committee review and client presentations.
Committee Support & Governance
Support the preparation and organisation of REIC meetings, including agenda setting, documentation collation, and minute-taking.
Liaise with the local BLI team, compliance, risk, legal, and tax experts to ensure all regulatory and governance requirements are met for new product approvals.
Coordinate with the central BLI team in Paris for referencing and validation of new investment opportunities.
Product Structuring & Distribution
Assist in structuring investment products (e.g., club deals, certificates, funds), ensuring alignment with target market, regulatory frameworks (MIFID, AIFMD, SFDR), and internal policies.
Contribute to the preparation of prospectuses, KIDs, and marketing materials, and ensure their validation by relevant control functions.
Support the definition and implementation of distribution strategies in collaboration with Private Banking teams.
Client & Commercial Support
Provide commercial support to bankers and relationship managers, including the preparation of client-facing materials and responses to investor queries.
Participate in the animation and presentation of the real estate investment offering to internal teams and, where appropriate, to clients.
Monitor ongoing investments, prepare periodic reporting, and contribute to the follow-up of club deal subscriptions and performance.
Monitoring & Reporting
Track and report on the performance of real estate investments, including IRR, coupon distributions, and asset valuations.
Support the annual reporting process to senior management and contribute to internal and regulatory reporting as required.
Legacy Investment files
In addition to the core responsibilities, the Real Estate Investment Analyst will play a key role in the ongoing monitoring and management of legacy real estate certificates ("certificats immobiliers") issued by Degroof Petercam. This involves overseeing the administrative and financial follow-up of existing certificates, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to investors, and coordinating with property managers and service providers for the underlying assets. The analyst will be responsible for tracking the performance of each certificate, including coupon distributions, asset valuations, and the evolution of key financial indicators such as IRR and cash flow.
They will also support the preparation of investor communications, participate in the organization of exit strategies (such as asset sales or certificate liquidation), and contribute to the resolution of operational challenges, including tenant management, refinancing, or legal matters. This function requires close collaboration with internal teams (legal, compliance, tax, and asset management) to ensure that all actions remain compliant with governance frameworks and investor interests, while maintaining a high standard of service and transparency for certificate holders.
Your profile
Master's degree in Finance, Law, Real Estate, or related field.
3-5 year experience in real estate investment, asset management, or advisory.
Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; rigorous and detail-oriented.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; client-focused and proactive.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Familiarity with real estate products, valuation methods, and regulatory frameworks.
Fluency in French and English; Dutch is an asset.
