Role Description
*BASED IN SHANGHAI*
As a Junior Image Editor or Image Editor (title dependent on experience), you play a key role in ensuring good photos become great images. Working closely with photographers, stylists, and production teams, you will retouch and prepare assets that are accurate, on brand, and delivered on time.
You will follow each client's retouching guidelines and brand standards, with a strong focus on colour correction, cut-outs, and other Photoshop-based requirements. Being part of the KANVID studio team means producing high-quality work that you and your teammates can be proud to deliver to clients.
Key Responsibilities
· Retouching and Image Quality
Retouch a wide range of content including product, model, apparel, jewellery, cosmetics, food, electrical items, and homeware.
Apply colour correction, cut-outs, cleanup, and other Photoshop retouching tasks to meet client standards.
Perform quality checks on your work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client guidelines.
Maintain high colour consistency between the image and physical product.
· Workflow and File Management
Name and format digital asset files according to each client's requirements.
Organise, store, and maintain files on the studio server.
· Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with photographers, stylists, and the wider studio team to ensure retouching requirements are understood and delivered.
Communicate progress clearly, and support the team with any other tasks assigned by management.
· Reporting
Report to the Senior Image Editor and Studio Manager on weekly and monthly production volumes, and estimated delivery dates for projects or batches of work.
Qualifications / Work Experience
Native Chinese speaker, English communication skills are preferred but not mandatory.
Strong technical proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, other Adobe software is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of visual quality.
Interest in fashion and eCommerce content is a plus.
Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Quick learner who can follow international brand guidelines and retouching standards.
Proactive, organised, and a strong team player.
Comfortable using Excel for basic tracking and organisation.
Experience with fashion or eCommerce editing is beneficial, especially for non-junior candidates.
Interview Process
Candidates invited to interview should bring a CV and portfolio.
A practical retouching test will be completed on the day of the interview to demonstrate technical skills and attention to detail.
