Job Description
Are you passionate about FTTH and OSP design? Do you enjoy creating clear and accurate PON network designs? And do you solve technical challenges with ease? Then this role as an FTTH Fiber Designer at WKF Engineering is exactly what you are looking for.
What you’ll be doing
As an FTTH Fiber Designer, you design high-quality OSP and PON networks for various telecom operators and grid owners. You translate technical information into accurate FTTH designs and support the full design cycle.
Your tasks include:
Creating FTTH, OSP and PON network designs
Working with Comsof Fiber, QGIS, ArcGIS and AutoCAD
Preparing HLD, LLD and as-built iterations
Collecting required information such as GRB data, customer scope, protected buildings and possible installation routes
Processing and structuring all information inside the GIS platform
Applying Comsof Fiber algorithms to generate HLD
Manually optimising HLD results
Applying design logic (facade, trenching, aerial)
Ensuring correct material use in all network layers
Optimising ducts and cables
Preparing the Bill of Materials (BOM)
Exporting BOM sheets
Preparing construction documents such as civil works plans, blowing plans and splicing plans
What we expect from you
You are a motivated designer with strong technical insight and a structured way of working. You enjoy solving problems and take responsibility for delivering precise work.
You match this role if:
You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field or have equivalent experience.
You have strong 2D AutoCAD skills.
You have experience with FTTH, OSP and/or PON design.
You work independently, stay organised and handle deadlines well.
You have good technical insight and can read topographic plans.
You work comfortably with MS Office and are open to learning new software.
You are flexible and proactive.
Experience with ArcGIS or Comsof Fiber is a plus.
