This role combines executive leadership with hands-on technical impact at an early-stage company poised to transform an entire industry. This role is based at our R&D center in Belgium (Mantis Robotics BV), but has a global scope.ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the engineering vision and roadmap across robotics hardware and softwareEstablish scalable processes and best practices for rapid, high-quality engineering developmentCollaborate with product, research, and operations to align priorities and deliverablesLead and scale a world-class engineering team; recruit, mentor, and retain top talentRepresent engineering in executive, board, and customer discussionsRequirementsProven ability to lead and scale cross-disciplinary engineering teams in a fast-paced environmentStrong background in robotics, automation, or complex hardware/software systemsTrack record of delivering safety-rated products from R&D to productionExcellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and align teamsStay hands-on with system design, integration, debugging, and prototyping when neededMaster’s/Ph.D. in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field10+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership rolesMust be authorized to work in Belgium (EU citizens, BE permanent residents, etc)PreferredFamiliarity with robotics compliance, safety, and certification processesTechnical expertise in complex sensing systems, embedded software, or real-time manipulator controlMantis Robotics is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
