About the Role
A leading automotive client is seeking a skilled Level 2 Network Support Engineer to join its IT infrastructure team in Ghent. You will play a key role in maintaining, supporting, and optimizing the company's network environment, ensuring high availability and performance across manufacturing and corporate systems.This role is ideal for someone with solid hands-on experience in Cisco networking, routing, and switching, who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues and working in a fast-paced, production-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 2nd line support for network-related incidents and service requestsTroubleshoot and resolve issues across LAN, WAN, and WLAN environmentsMonitor network performance and ensure optimal uptime and reliabilitySupport and maintain Cisco-based infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls)Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 3 teams to escalate and resolve complex issuesPerform network configuration, upgrades, and patchingParticipate in incident management, root cause analysis, and problem managementContribute to network documentation, diagrams, and operational proceduresSupport ongoing infrastructure and digital transformation projects
Technical Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco technologiesSolid understanding of:Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)Switching technologies (VLANs, STP, trunking)TCP/IP networking fundamentalsExperience with network monitoring and troubleshooting toolsYou are fluent in English. Dutch is a bonus.
