We are looking for a Senior Software Solutions Engineer to join our Client's team in Diegem for a one-year assignment. This hybrid role (50% onsite) offers the opportunity to work on impactful internal software solutions that drive efficiency and innovation across the organization.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Software Solutions Engineer, you’ll:
· Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for new and existing software solutions.
· Align development efforts with business strategies and objectives.
· (Co-)Design, develop, test, and deploy internal applications using modern programming languages and technologies.
· Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and system enhancements.
· Monitor, maintain, and improve existing applications for performance, security, and scalability.
· Troubleshoot technical issues and deliver efficient solutions.
· Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices.
· Share knowledge, contribute to team development, and help refine workflows.
· Work closely with IT, business departments, and leadership to achieve common goals.
· Participate in agile ceremonies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
· Co-create technical and user documentation and provide training on internal tools.
What You Bring
Required technical skills:
· Proficiency in SQL and RPG ILE (Free), including embedded SQL
· Experience with IBM Rational Developer and IBM Data Studio
· Familiarity with VSCode, XML/JSON, and MS Office
· Understanding of communication methods on I-Series: MQ Series, FTP, DDM, IFS
Nice-to-have knowledge:
· RPG400 or older
· Webservices/SOAP
· IBM APIs
· ARCAD or other software change management systems
· Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
· Full Stack Development
· Java Development
