Sales Manager, the Netherlands or Belgium
We are assisting a forward-thinking AgTech organization in expanding its commercial presence across Europe.
This company specializes in agricultural technology, focusing on autonomous robotic systems tailored for controlled-environment farming.
About the Role
In this role, you will lead direct sales efforts in the Netherlands and Belgium, engaging with growers, cooperatives, and partners to drive adoption of next-generation robotic solutions.
You will be the first full-time local hire in Europe, reporting directly to the Co-Founder and VP of Business Development.
This is a field-based role that requires autonomy, strong relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of the greenhouse ecosystem.
Responsibilities
· Own and manage the full sales cycle: from prospecting to closing, including demos and field visits.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial growers and horticultural co-ops in the Netherlands and Belgium.
· Engage with strategic leads provided by the company and independently generate new business opportunities.
· Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events in the region.
· Collaborate closely with the global sales, technical, and back-office teams to ensure smooth customer onboarding and satisfaction.
· Support the logistics of on-site robot deployment and provide basic technical guidance when needed.
· Maintain up-to-date records of sales activity and market intelligence.
· Travel across Northwestern Europe and, eventually, North America (approximately 30% to 40% of the time)
Requirements
· MUST: 5+ years of B2B sales experience in greenhouse technology, AgTech, or precision agriculture solutions related to controlled environment agriculture (CEA), automation, robotics, or irrigation/fertigation systems
· MUST: Experience selling to growers, cooperatives, or greenhouse operators
· MUST: Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written); French is a plus.
· MUST: Experience with technical or hardware-based solutions (robotics, automation, irrigation, fertigation, etc.).
· Strong network within the Dutch or Belgian greenhouse industry.
· Self-starter mindset with the ability to operate independently in a startup environment.
· Willingness to travel internationally (30% to 40%).
