About the Role
As an Infrastructure Architect, you will be the driving force behind the design, scalability, and security of our core IT infrastructure. You will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution, ensuring our hybrid environments (On-Premise and Google Cloud) are robust, efficient, and future-proof.
You will take ownership of architectural decisions regarding our Windows environments, databases, and virtual desktop solutions, acting as the technical authority for critical infrastructure transformations.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Design & Roadmap: Design and maintain the architecture for enterprise-level infrastructure, focusing on Windows Server environments, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
* Technical Leadership: Act as the Technical Lead for infrastructure projects. Guide and mentor Medior/Senior System and Network Engineers in implementing your designs.
* Solution Architecture: Create and maintain comprehensive High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for new deployments and migrations.
* VDI Management: Oversee the architecture and future upgrades of the virtual desktop environment (specifically Dizzion Frame).
* Performance & Reliability: Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and optimal performance across SQL databases and cloud-hosted workloads.
* Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate new technologies and ensure solutions align with business goals.
* Security & Compliance: Ensure all infrastructure designs comply with corporate security standards, networking policies, and data protection regulations.
Technical Requirements (Hard Skills)
* Operating Systems: Deep, hands-on expertise in Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policies, and the broader enterprise Microsoft ecosystem.
* Cloud Computing: Proven experience designing and migrating workloads to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically utilizing Compute Engine, VPCs, IAM, Cloud Storage, and Kubernetes.
* Virtualization / VDI: Strong experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Specific experience with Dizzion Frame is highly desirable; extensive experience with similar technologies (VMWare, Omnissa Horizon, Citrix, or Azure Virtual Desktop) is required.
* Database Infrastructure: Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server architecture, including High Availability (AlwaysOn), clustering, and performance tuning from an infrastructure perspective.
* Networking Integration: Good foundational knowledge of enterprise networking (VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls) to ensure infrastructure seamlessly integrates with the network team's setups.
Profile & Soft Skills
* Experience: Minimum 10–15 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a dedicated Architectural or Lead Engineering role.
* Problem Solver: Highly analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex, cross-platform issues.
* Communication: Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Languages: Fluent in English; strong proficiency in Dutch and/or French is highly preferred for collaborating within the local Belgian team.
* Proactive: A self-starter who naturally takes ownership of projects and proposes innovative improvements without waiting for top-down instructions.
