PROJECT ENGINEER - LEUVEN (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITIONWe're currently recruiting for a Project Engineer for a position which will focus on the delivery of bespoke hardware and software solutions used in advanced measurement, testing, automation, and data acquisition applications across industrial and research environments.This position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging, highly customised projects involving the integration of mechanical systems, electronics, instrumentation, control systems, and software. Projects range from concept development and prototype systems through to fully commissioned customer solutions, often requiring close collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines.In this position, you'll play a key role in coordinating and delivering projects throughout the full engineering lifecycle, including requirements capture, technical planning, design coordination, procurement support, build oversight, testing, commissioning, and customer acceptance. You will work closely with internal engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing personnel, and customers to ensure projects are delivered to specification, on schedule, and to a high technical standard.Key ResponsibilitiesManage engineering projects involving bespoke electromechanical measurement and instrumentation systems.Coordinate the design, integration, and delivery of custom hardware and software solutions for advanced measurement and automation applications.Translate customer requirements into technical specifications, project plans, and engineering deliverables.Support system architecture, component selection, integration planning, and technical problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project execution.Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers to manage technical queries, procurement activities, and project milestones.Oversee prototype builds, testing, validation, commissioning, and system acceptance activities.Develop and maintain project schedules, technical documentation, risk assessments, and progress reports.Participate in installation, customer support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities where required.Ensure projects are delivered in line with quality, safety, technical, and commercial objectives.Required Skills & ExperienceDegree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or related discipline.Experience delivering electromechanical engineering projects within a technical, manufacturing, automation, or instrumentation environment.Strong understanding of electromechanical systems used in precision measurement, automation, and testing applications.Experience integrating mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software elements into bespoke engineering solutions.Experience supporting the development and commissioning of custom hardware and software systems.Exposure to control architectures, industrial communications, and system integration methodologies.Strong communication, organisational, and project coordination skills.Proactive and hands-on approach to engineering problem-solving.Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.The Offer:A permanent, full-time employment contractA salary & benefits package commensurate with experiencePlease send over your CV to tom.walker@vividresourcing.com or call me on +32 (0) 3 318 00 74.
