Assignments
We are looking for a System Engineer – Hydraulic Actuation to join a key player in the automotive industry.
As part of the system engineering team, you will play a central role in the development of hydraulic systems and power shift modules/clutches, covering the full V-cycle, from specification to validation.
Your main responsibilities include:
* Decomposing product-level technical requirements into (sub-)system specifications and architectures, ensuring compliance follow-up
* Managing and updating Critical-to-Function (CTF) items
* Driving technical decision-making with clear communication across multidisciplinary stakeholders and customers
* Conducting system-level V-cycle testing, troubleshooting, and validation to ensure reliability, safety, and performance
* Preparing and maintaining technical documentation and specifications
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams (embedded software, mechanical, hydraulic, materials engineering) to ensure seamless system integration
* Performing system analysis, modelling, and simulation to validate performance against industry standards
* Participating in design reviews, FMEAs, and risk assessments
* Leading system issue investigations (8D/QRQC) across development, serial life, and aftersales phases
* Supporting the development of Functional Safety and Cybersecurity requirements
The Profile
Background
You hold a Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent by experience.
Must Have
* Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably in an automotive engineering environment
* Strong technical background in mechanical engineering (design & manufacturing), with the ability to bridge software and controls strategies
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
* Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies: 5W2H, 8D, Six Sigma
* Fluent in English (oral and written)
* Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
Nice to Have
* Proficiency in system engineering tools: Matlab, Simulink, Minitab, Vector CANape
* Experience with requirement management tools such as Polarion
