As a GIS Engineer within a SaaS company, you'll be responsible for developing geospatial products, location intelligence solutions, and data-driven applications that enhance user experiences, automate spatial workflows, and support smarter business decision-making.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement geospatial analytics solutions for SaaS applications, including spatial intelligence, location-based insights, territory optimisation, site selection, network analysis, predictive spatial modelling, and workflow automation.
* Design, deploy, and maintain GIS applications, spatial databases, and geospatial services across cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
* Build and maintain automated geospatial ETL/ELT pipelines to process, transform, and integrate large-scale spatial and non-spatial datasets.
* Develop APIs and geospatial web services to support internal and customer-facing applications.
* Contribute to modern DevOps and GIS infrastructure practices including CI/CD, version control, monitoring, governance, and scalable cloud-native architectures.
* Integrate advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-powered geospatial capabilities to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
* Stay up to date with emerging GIS technologies, spatial analytics methods, cloud platforms, and geospatial innovation initiatives.
Your Profile
* 2–5 years of experience in GIS Engineering, Geospatial Data Engineering, Spatial Analytics, Geomatics, or a related field.
* Strong Python development skills.
* Hands-on experience working with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, FME, PostGIS, or similar technologies.
* Experience developing and maintaining geospatial applications, APIs, and data services in production environments.
* Strong understanding of data engineering concepts including ETL/ELT processes, cloud-native architectures, APIs, databases, and large-scale data pipelines.
* Experience with geospatial data processing libraries such as GeoPandas, Shapely, GDAL, Rasterio, ArcPy, or similar tools.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
* Experience with machine learning, spatial data science, remote sensing analytics, or AI-driven geospatial solutions is considered a strong advantage.
