Associate Director, Business Development, Medical Affairs – EMEA
IQVIA Medical Affairs is the proven partner to help generate trustworthy medical evidence that can drive the right stakeholder dialogue, at any point in the asset lifecycle. To improve healthcare decision-making and patient outcomes.
The role of the Medical Affairs Sales manager will be a pivotal role in our “Go-To-Market” strategies in 2024 and beyond as we look to realize and succeed with this positioning in existing and new clients.
Responsibilities
1. Achieve individual annual sales target based on selling to Pharmaceutical/Biotech clients across the offering suite to attain sales quotas as assigned.
2. Be knowledgeable of IQVIA’s full service medical affairs portfolio
3. Actively prospect and leverage potential new business opportunities within specified customer account(s).
4. Deploy extensive external and internal networking to develop contacts and engage with your defined portfolio of clients to drive your opportunity pipeline e.g., generating leads
5. Collaborate closely with the wider IQVIA Real World Go to Market team and the EMEA Medical Strategy team
6. Lead key strategic and large opportunities that are critical to achieving global plan and financial goals on a quarterly basis
7. Work with the wider Sales team to co-ordinate your approach with customers to drive sales, leveraging support where required
8. Support the build out of account plans, and develop / evolve client specific account strategies based on current EU client Life Sciences ecosystems and maturity
9. Assess and anticipate business risks due to environmental changes impacting our relationship with the account such as the competitive setting, account product portfolio, strategy, and R&D pipeline
10. Assess any additional client potential within white space analysis to directly drive revenue & growth
11. Support offerings teams with customer feedback to provide input to develop and adapt current solutions, to create new & improved client centric offerings
12. Actively leads proposal preparation meetings and proposal defence meetings.
Requirements
13. Proven track record of selling directly to Pharmaceutical/Healthcare clients: Tech Platforms, Data, Medical affairs…
14. Extensive knowledge of Customer account management and the pharmaceutical industry
15. Good knowledge of medical affairs, medical communications, digital publishing/media, and pharmaceutical medical/ digital marketing would be beneficial
16. Demonstrated ability to influence senior level execs both internally and at customer organizations
17. Ability to work independently and engage wider go to market stakeholders across organization both internally and externally
18. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, a true team player
19. Proven track record at mid-level and high-level contacts.
20. Excellent Business/Industry awareness and a thorough understanding of industry trends and impact on the business
21. Demonstrated ability to work creatively in a fast-paced environment
22. Ability to work independently and as a team player
23. Outstanding written/verbal communication skills
24. Outstanding presentation skills both to individuals and groups
25. Excellent personal and negation skills
26. Ability to meet strict deadlines; manage competing priorities and changing demands
