Mechanical Engineer - Brussels - 9 Month Freelance (potential extension)
We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer with solid design experience to support an exciting Food & Beverage project based in Brussels. This 9-month freelance contract offers the chance to contribute to innovative production and processing system designs within a dynamic engineering environment.
As a key member of the project team, you'll be responsible for developing, testing, and refining mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks, ensuring that all designs meet project goals, safety standards, and industry regulations.
What You'll Do
Create and optimize detailed mechanical designs and models in SolidWorks.
Partner with multidisciplinary teams to translate project requirements into practical solutions.
Carry out feasibility studies, design validations, and prototype assessments.
Offer hands-on technical support through manufacturing and installation stages.
Guarantee all deliverables comply with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
Proven background in Mechanical Engineering .
SolidWorks proficiency — design, drafting, and 3D modeling.
Experience in Food & Beverage or related process industries is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage your own deadlines.
Must speak fluent Dutch
